Rudi's Donation Day

Share Rudi's donation day visit the Animal Blood Bank.

Rudi is one of our wonderful donors. She is a retired Greyhound from Florida.

For the donation she lies down on her side on the table.

A small area in the neck is shaved and cleaned.

The jugular vein is used for blood collection because it is big and shortens the donation time.

Once the needle is in place, the donor lies relaxing during the process.

Sometimes, they even take a nap...

...probably dreaming about the good food and treat they get after donation.
