We are a very busy 5 doctor practice. 80% of the practice is based on dogs and cats, 20% is exotic non avian. Our practice is founded on education and the bulk of our services are medicine and surgery not vaccines. At the facility we have an ABAXIS Chemistry CBC System, 500 mA Universal XRay system, pulse oximeter, ECG monitor, 2 binocular microscopes, multiple German SS Surgical Pakcs, Electro Caudery, Clairis Ultrasound system, O2 cages.

Responsibilities

The student will shadow Dr. Karen Purcell through her surgical/examination rotation during the 4 weeks here – She will be welcome to observe any of the doctors as well. Each day is broken into 8 hour shifts, 2 shifts a day. The student will be welcome to assist the surgeon in surgery and assist work ups of medical cases and attend rounds. The student can expect to see 80 cases per week.

Student Supervision

The student will have access to the veterinarian 8hrs per day.
