Food Animal Club

The Food Animal Club is an active club with weekly morning meetings featuring varied speakers and topics with breakfast provided at every meeting!! Some meeting topics for this fall are listed below:

  • Externship experience presentations by second and third year students
  • The role of the veterinarian in diary nutrition with Dr. Dwight Roseler
  • Opportunities for veterinarians in the AI Industry
  • Dairy Herd Improvement

Food Animal Club members are also involved with many national veterinary associations. This fall a group of students from The Ohio State University will be attending the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP) national meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Our club also allows students to get information about externships and other opportunities available to gain experience in food animal medicine. So whether you have a farm background or you are just a little curious about food animal medicine, you should definitely check out what the food animal club has to offer.
