Cumulative GPA

The Admission committee reviews the overall GPA and science grades received in the required prerequisite courses.  If you do not meet the minimum GPA requirement (see below), your application will not be considered.

Residents

Ohio applicants with a GPA of 3.0 or higher receive preferential consideration.  Ohio applicants with a GPA less than a 2.8 will not be considered.

**All Applicants who complete a VMCAS application are required to complete the supplemental application available online at www.vet.osu.edu.

Non-Residents

Non-resident candidates with a GPA of 3.4 or higher receive preferential consideration.  Applicants who are non-residents with a GPA less than a 3.0 will not be considered.

Please Note:
Competitive applicants typically exceed the minimum GRE and GPA requirements.  Therefore, just meeting the minimum GPA and GRE requirement will not guarantee your application will be considered.

Prerequisite Science GPA

The pre-req science GPA will also be considered in the admission process.  A competitive science GPA is a 3.4 or higher.  Applicants must have a C or better in all prerequisite course requirements.
