Keeping data from being accessed by the wrong people extends beyond good computer practice:

• Be mindful of what you print, where it prints out, and who could see or even take it before you get to the printer
• Be careful when you talk not to disclose information that is inappropriate for others to hear
• Keep printed records locked in a secure location
• Lock your desktop computer screen when you walk away to keep others from accessing it
• Lock your door (if you have one) when you leave your workspace
• Destroy data, whether on paper or digital media when it is no longer needed - consult VIS for appropriate digital media disposal
