CASE NUMBER #2

SIGNALMENT:

  • Species: Equine
  • Breed: Thoroughbred
  • Age: 5 years
  • Sex: MC

HISTORY:

An ocular discharge with ulceration of the medial cornea of 1 month duration was the presenting complaint. The horse had been treated by the RDVM with topical broad-spectrum antibiotics. No improvement had been noted. The horse is stabled at night and spends the daytime in a pasture environment. The animal is observed to be moderately fractious on initiation of examination. No history of trauma. The horse is presented in the month of July. Vaccinations are current. The horse was wormed 6 weeks prior to your examination using ivermectin.
