Case #1

Signalment:

Species: Canine
Breed: Great Dane
Age: 8 months
Sex: Female
Name: Christy

History:

Christy has been vomiting for the past 4 months. It usually occurs within 10 minutes after eating and consists of undigested food mixed with white froth. No bile or blood is present. Occasionally, the vomiting is unassociated with eating. Lately, the frequency has progressed to 3-4 times per day. Christy is able to keep canned food down better than dry kibble (Puppy Chow). Her attitude and appetite were normal up until the past few days. Now she is eating less and seems lethargic. She also has developed a productive cough in the past 3 days. Weight loss has been progressive over the past 2 months.

At this point, you would like to perform a physical exam and run some diagnostic tests.
