The following scholarships and grants are sponsored by SAVMA and its committees throughout the year. All SCAVMA and affiliate members that have paid dues for the current year are eligible for these opportunities.

SAVMA Intervet Call for Submissions
The editiors are looking for submissions for Issue 3: You could win $$$ for your submission!

Here is what they are looking for:
All in a Day's Work: Any good stories about jobs you took to help you get into vet school or road trips to Symposium?
Forum Topics: Animal ownership vs. guardianship, what’s your opinion?
Curriculum - What do you think of a generalized curriculum vs. tracking?
Emerging Issues - What do you perceive as the new emerging issues for veterinary medicine? Case Reports: Send us interesting cases that you have seen/worked on as a student.
Creative Corner: Any and all individual creative writing/ artwork/ photography/ music/ short video/ interpretive dance... you name it, we want to see it!
Trivia: See the current issue for trivia questions!
Some other topics strike your fancy? We’d love to hear about it!

AVMA Externship Stipend Program for Public and Corporate Student Externships
The American Veterinary Medical Association offers assistance to students seeking to broaden their education through experiences outside private practice. The AVMA Externship Stipend Program enhances the opportunity for students who are members of the SAVMA to participate in externships in public and corporate employment settings. The stipend program will provide $1000 stipends for up to five students who complete externships in approved, public and corporate settings. Multicultural Student Affairs Scholarship
Have you promoted Multiculturalism or Diversity in your school or in your community? Apply NOW! TWO $400 Scholarships Will Be Awarded!! ELIGIBILITY: You must be a full-time veterinary student and a SCAVMA member in good standing. Scholarship winners will be selected by the Multicultural Student Affairs Committee at the SAVMA Symposium. Winners will be notified via email by Friday, March 19, 2005. SAVMA Public Relations Grants (2)
Grants will be awarded to a student/group that has advanced public awareness of the veterinary profession and the vital role it can play within their community. Two grants will be awarded each semester. Each award will be $200. PR grants applications must be submitted by April 1 for spring semester. Contact: savma_pr@yahoo.com

SAVMA Multicultural Student Affairs Committee Diversity Group Grant
A student, a student run organization, or a group of students who demonstrate financial need to hold an event are eligible to request funding. The individual or group must explain the purpose of their event, how it will promote diversity and multiculturalism, demonstrate effort in exploring other means of funding, and provide a projected budget plan describing how the money will be used. A total of five awards of two hundred dollars each are available during the year. Completed forms are due four weeks prior to the event, and should be emailed to Devon Hague hague.19@osu.edu
